1. Who we are
EazyPrint is an Android app that prints PDFs from your phone to a USB printer. It is published by EazyLife Tech Solutions ("we", "us"), an independent developer based in Uttar Pradesh, India. This policy explains what the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary only for the limited technical data in section 4. We never receive the contents of your documents.
2. What stays on your phone
EazyPrint works offline. There is no server doing the work, and nothing is uploaded to print.
- Files you open. When you pick a file, or send one to EazyPrint from another app, EazyPrint keeps a copy in its own private storage so it is still there next time. Delete it from the Files tab to remove it. The original, wherever it came from, is not touched.
- Files list and job history. A small database on your phone records each file (name, type, size, page count, a preview, when you added and last opened it, whether it is a favourite) and each print job (file name, printer name and USB ids, time, result, number of copies, paper size, orientation and how many sheets were sent). You can turn the job list off under You, remove jobs or clear them all in the Jobs tab, and delete files in the Files tab.
- Your choices. Theme, whether to pick a printer automatically, whether to notify you when a print ends, your usual paper, orientation, scaling and margins, and whether you have seen the welcome screens.
- Temporary files. Page previews and files prepared for printing are kept in the app's cache. "Free up space" under You clears them. Your files stay.
- Print requests from other apps. If you print from another app's Print menu, Android hands EazyPrint the file, and EazyPrint holds it only to send it to your printer.
- Converted documents. If EazyPrint converts a Word or Excel file to PDF, this happens on your phone.
None of this is uploaded to us or to anyone else. Android backup is turned off for EazyPrint, so this data is not copied to your Google account backup. Uninstalling the app removes it. If you tap Share on a file, it goes only to the app you choose, under that app's own privacy policy.
3. Permissions
| Permission | Why | When it is asked |
|---|---|---|
| USB host access to your printer | To send the print job over the USB cable (OTG adapter) to the printer you chose | Android asks when you connect a printer. EazyPrint never asks for access to a printer it has no driver for. |
| Notifications | To tell you when a print finishes or fails while EazyPrint is not on screen | Once, at your first print. You can say no and still print. You can also turn it off under You. |
| Internet | Only so crash reports and printer reports (section 4) can be sent. Printing does not need it. | Granted at install, without a prompt. |
EazyPrint does not ask for storage, camera, location, contacts or microphone access. You pick files with Android's own file picker, and the app sees only the files you pick.
4. What we collect and why
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to learn when the app crashes and why. Nothing else is collected.
| Data | Purpose | Processed by |
|---|---|---|
| Crash reports, sent automatically when the app crashes: device model, Android version, app version, a random installation ID that Firebase creates for this install, the stack trace (which part of the program failed), and the device's state at that moment, as described by Google. They do not contain your files. An error message can occasionally contain a file name; we use it only to fix the error. | Finding and fixing crashes | Google (Firebase Crashlytics) |
| Printer report, sent only when you tap "Send report" after a print went wrong, and only after you pick what went wrong. It contains: the problem you picked; the printer's USB vendor and product ids and our model name, driver family and support level for it; how the job ended and how many sheets were sent out of the total; the page count; the job's paper size, orientation, scaling, margins and copies; the app version and Android version. It never contains the file, its name or its pages. | Making a printer we do not own work | Google (Firebase Crashlytics) |
Crash reports are on all the time and there is no switch for them in the app. To stop them, uninstall the app, or email us (section 10) and we will delete what we can find. The printer report fields are stored by Crashlytics as labels on your installation, so a later crash report from the same phone can carry the fields from your last printer report.
IP addresses: like any internet service, Google receives your IP address when the app sends a report. We do not receive or keep IP addresses ourselves.
We use this data only to fix the app and to add printer support. We do not use it for advertising and we do not build profiles.
5. What we do not collect
We do not collect the content or names of your files, your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps. We do not use analytics, we do not read or use your advertising ID, and the app contains no ads. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use it only to reply. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it to show ads.
6. Who processes data, and for how long
- Google processes crash reports and printer reports through Firebase Crashlytics (Firebase privacy information). Google may process data outside India. Crashlytics keeps crash data for 90 days, which is Google's default setting for Crashlytics, and then deletes it. The Firebase installation ID is kept by Firebase until it is deleted; to ask for deletion, contact us.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.
- Your files, job history and choices stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Data sent to Google is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Because your documents never leave your phone, there is no copy of them on any server to protect. We may disclose the limited data we hold if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid order from a court or law enforcement.
The Google Play Data safety form, once the app is on Google Play, will match this page. We update both together.
7. Your choices and rights
- Delete data on your phone: delete files in the Files tab, clear the Jobs tab, or uninstall EazyPrint.
- Access, correction and erasure: email us. Because we cannot identify you from a crash report on our own, tell us your phone model, Android version and app version (under You, then About) and the time of the problem, and we will say what we can and cannot find. We will delete what Crashlytics tools let us find, and tell you when the rest expires under section 6.
- Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the app. Data already collected is deleted on request as above.
- Nominate a person to exercise your rights for you if you die or become unable to act.
- Complain to us (section 10). If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
EazyPrint is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and add a line to the version history. If a change is important, such as a new kind of data, we will also tell you in the app before it applies.
